Suite IIX} Re: Lot 203, Clayhoume Carmel P.O. 02-19854 Dear Mr. Avolt: As you requested, I inspected the framing in the garage of this home under construction, particularly on the north side bemeen the door into the house and the garage door. The framing of the house resulted in · the sole plate overhanging the foundation wall slightly. t~tcthe west end of the wall, the overhang is about 1 1/8 inches, and that tapers down to about ~ inch at e east end. At about the midpoint of the wall where a point load is supported, the overhand is about M inch. At the west end, the bottom of the plate is about 4-3/8 inches above the floor. At the point load the bottom ofthe plate is about 5 ~ inches above the floor, and at the east end it is about 6 ½ inches above the floor. The nor& wall is load-beating between the steps at the west end and the point load in the middle, but the east end (where there is the least overhang) supports very little load because the roof tresses are parallel to the wall. The eastern portion is safe and stable as it is and needs no additional support.
