At yestarday's inspection Jim Ochs of the Cty of Carmet asked for some information to ved~ wa I rat ngs
as it applies to the rooms housing liquid nitrogen (cryogenics), He asked if the Cryogen cs f~ I under the
oxidizing or flammable use gr0ul~ which would make the wall rating either 1 hour ~r 2 hour based on the
building class. I know that I am probably mixing up terms here, so simply put, I need to know how the gas
storage room (first floor) and e~bryo st(~rage room use groups and fire r:afings were determined. Your
assistance is greatly appreciated~ Thanks

1. Floor or Wall Assembly -- Min 2-1/2 in. thick reinforced lightweight or normal weight (100-150 pcf) concrete. Wall may
also be constructed of any UL Classified Concrete Blocks'. Max diom of opening is 3 in.

2. Through-Penetrant -- Max one flexible metal pipe or conduit installed concentrically or eccentrically within opening. The
annular space between penetrant and periphery of opening shall be min of 1/2 in. to max 1-1/4 in. Penetrant to be rigidly
supported on both sides of floor or wall assembly. The following types and sizes of penetrants may be used:
A. Flexible Steel Conduit+ -- Nom 1 in. diam (or smaller) flexible steel conduit.
