Assistant City Engineer Carmel City Hall One Civic Square Cannel, IN 46032 RE: 96th Street Corridor,City Project No. 16-ENG-05 and 16-ENG-33 Proposal Revision for Additional Services Agreement No.8 CHA Project No.31355 and 31904 Dear Chris: For your consideration and action,the following is our revised Additional Services Agreement(ASA)No. 8 proposal for the above referenced project. 1. Temporary Traffic Signal at Brandt Road (16-ENG-05 Construction Change No. 6): Additional roadway and traffic design is required to add a temporary traffic signal at 96d' Street and Brandt Road. The original design included a detour to use Priority Way to keep construction costs down. The temporary traffic signal was discussed with the City of Cannel during the coordination meeting held on 1/24/18. The additional effort has been completed at the City's direction as Construction Change No. 6 submitted to the City on 7/20/18. Our lump sum design fee for this work is $15,400. This included the following updates with a quality review prior to issuance of the construction change: • Revised MOT Plans at Brandt Road with Construction Details • Added Traffic Signal Design • Added Signing and Marking Plan • Quantities and Cost Estimate 2. Additional Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) Design: Additional MOT design has been completed at the request of Rieth-Riley and as directed by the City of Cannel. Revised MOT Phase 2 Plans for 96th Street were submitted on 6/1/18, and revised MOT Phase 2 Plans for Keystone Parkway were submitted on 6/7/18. An email from the City on 6/28/18 mentioned to include this effort in the design contract, instead of a direct invoice for the effort. Our hourly fee for this additional work is $7,300. This included the following updates with a quality review prior to issuance of the plans: • Revised 96th Street MOT Phase 2 Plans • Revised Keystone Parkway MOT Phase 2 Plans Exhibit "Satisfying Our Clients with Union Station, 300 S. Additional Aesthetic Wall Design (16-ENG-05 Construction Change No. 8): Additional roadway design is required to change the aesthetic wall type in the northwest corner of 96th Street and Hazel Dell Parkway. The wall change is a request from the City of Carmel on 6/25/18. Our lump sum design fee for this work is $12,300. UPDATE (8/22/18): After discussions with Cannel, it was agreed upon that the requested hourly fee be reduced to $11,400. This includes the following updates that will include a quality review prior to issuance as a revised construction change: • Update Typical Cross Sections • Update Plan&Profile • Update Retaining Wall Details • Update Cross Sections • Structural and Foundation Analysis • Quantities and Cost Estimate • Geotechnical Investigation(Earth Exploration) 4. Intersection Improvement Design at Martin Marietta with Path Options (16-ENG-05 Construction Change No. 7): Additional roadway design is required to improve the signalized intersection at 96th Street and the entrance to Martin Marietta. This additional work is all within the City's existing Right-of-Way. The work includes adding intersection lighting, signage, pedestrian chicane gates, and pedestrian signal heads requested by the City during the coordination meeting held on 1/24/18. This construction change also includes developing path options along 96th Street. Our lump sum design fee for this work is$15,700. This includes the following updates that will include a quality review prior to issuance as a construction change: • Update Typical Sections • Update Plan&Profile • Update Construction Details • Add Intersection Lighting • Add Traffic Signal Updates • Update Signing and Pavement Markings • Quantities and Cost Estimate 5. Structural Analysis for 96th St Bridge over Cannel Creek (16-ENG-05 Construction Change No. 7): Structural Analysis is required to add a sidewalk across the south side of the 96th Street Bridge over Cannel Creek(Hamilton Co Br No.256). This additional work is all within the City's existing Right-of-Way. There will be 3 added sheets:sidewalk plan and section, railing plan, and scupper details. The structural analysis will look at two options: sidewalk as requested by City and flush sidewalk with barrier between traffic if requested sidewalk does not work. This also includes updating the load rating for the additional loads and quantities. Our lump sum design fee for this work is $11,300. This includes the following updates that will include a quality review prior to issuance of the construction change in Item No.4 above: • Added Bridge Detail Sheets • Structural Analysis of existing 96th Street Bridge over Cannel Creek • Quantities and Cost Estimate Exhibit . 2 ccb 6. EB left turn lane to IMCU Bank at Gray Road(16-ENG-34 Construction Change No. 2): Additional roadway design is required to add a temporary eastbound left turn lane into the Indiana Members Credit Union (IMCU) west of Gray Road. This was discussed and requested by the City of Cannel during the coordination meeting held on 1/24/18. Our lump sum design fee for this work is $7,600. This included the following updates with a quality review prior to issuance of the construction change: • Revised MOT Plans at Gray Road with Construction Details • Revised Signing and Marking Plan • Quantities and Cost Estimate We are requesting additional compensation for these additional design efforts listed above.
