Attorney Hershman was ordered to see Railroad Commiss- ion in regard to Ordinance providing for electric gongs at street crossings, Monon Railroad having failed to comply with Ordinance. Elam Roberts was present and asked Board to reduce license on pool tables from $50.00 per year to 825o00 Ne claiming that his buisness had fallen off to s~ch an extent that $50.00 was t~ high. No action was taken. Health Officer DR.Cooper was present and read an Ordinance that Dr. Hurty State Health Officer recoomends be passed by all Cities and towns.No action taken. Be it resolved by the Board of trustees of the Town of Carmel ~ndiana, That The Central Union Telephone Company be ordered to re- move their pole~res from Willow Street and designate the route at the looation of the first alley East of College Avenu~run thence North to the North edge of D.E.Wilkins~n~ Addition and thence Wemt to We~t side of College Avenue and thence North to Corporation Line and give them permission in so far as we have a right so to do, to plaoe their poles, wires,g~y and anchor wire~, providing t~ey do same so as not to be an obstruction to any building or roadway, street or alley.Said company to go over tree~ and not cut ~ame Sept. 19-th~ 1910. Bord met in regular session all members being present. Minutee of previous m~eting wer~ read and approved. Bill of ~5.55 was presented by Irvin Kinzer for labor on street.Bill was allowed. Bill of ~15.27 was presented by Yancy Millie for labor on street. Bill was allowed. An Ordinance levying taxes on property in Carmel, for the general purposes of town and Library was read. Ordinanc~ Levying Taxes. Secol. Be it ordained by the Board of Tr~stees of the Town of Carmel Hamilton County Indiana, that a tax for the ensuing year be levied and collected~ of 40cente, on each one httndred dollars, valuation, on all property in said town subject by law to taxation; for the g~neral p~rposes of the town. Sec.2 Be it further ordalmed that a tax of 6 cents on the hindred dollars of valuation on all propery within said town subject by law to taxaction, be levied and collected for Library p urpom~s. passed by the Board of Trustees of the town of Carmel~Indiana, this 19th day of Sept®mb®r,].910. Bill was allowed.~ Clyde Small presented bill for ~4.80 for hauling 19 loads of gravel ~t .40~ per load. Bill was allowed. A letter from the ~rary Board was r~ad;stating t~t terms of Au~tin Bond and Viola Williamson had expired and to fill v~ncan- ci~s of sam.. was moved by Hawkins and seconded by Daubenspeck that Bond and b~llz,mson be reapointed.
