Cal-mel, Ind., March 5, 1920.
The Board met March 5, at 8:00 o'clock with Nutt, Dee,'Bales
8mall and Hall present.
The resignation of Dr. Ross A~ Cooper, was read to the
Board. Dr. Cooper in his letter of resignation stating that
~ewould serve as Health Officer if the Board would increase
the salary of said officer to $100 per year. After sonsideration by
the Board it was deci4ed that the salary was too high, because
of th e financial condition of the town. Moved by Small, sec-
onded by Lee that the resignation be accepted. The Vote follows:

As Mrs. Dessie Hershey had made out the report of the Health
officer for Feb. it was the will of the Board that a check be
written, payable to her for the same. Motion by Bales, seconded
by Lee to that effect. Vote follows:

year, it was moved by Lee,

Upon motion of Hall seconded by Lee t~e light bill of the
Traction Dight & Power Co. for Feb. was discounted $5.00.

Oarmel, Ind., April 2, 1920.
The matter of the purchase of a chemical fire fighting
apparatus for the town was taken up and the clark ordered to
write a responsible company for literature. Also it was the
will of the Board that the president investigate fire ap-
paratus of other towns of like size of the State.
The matter of a speed ordinance for the town as relates
to the Traction and Railroad compnies operating through
Carmel was discusse~, the. matter to h~ve final action at
meeting of the Board on AprilBB.
The following claims were on motion, second and yea vote
of the Board ordered allowed.

The brick street coupons a~nount of 916.13 paid by the
Clerk on March 15, 1920, to the Farmers & Merchants Trust
Co., was 0. K.d by the Board.
On consideration and yea vote of the entire Board the
approach to the alley near the Telephone central office was
ordered graced and cemented and the clerk ordered to pay the
laborers on same, upon presentation of ~hsir claims to him
said claims 0. K.d by a Board member of the M~rshal, Thomas Evans.
