BOT 1936 (06-26) Specialhas taken Rue Hinshaw~s place as Fire Chief during the latter~s illness. A representative from the insurance company met with us but could give us no definite information concerning the policy for volunteer firemen ownea by the Town of Carmel. He set the following Thursday as a time to meet with the town attorney. There being no further ousiness the meeting adjour- nea. Acting Chrm. ~I~TEo OF A SPECIAL ~[EETING OF THE BOARD OF FINANCE OF THE TOX/~N OF C~P~iEL June 18, 193~ The board met in a special meeting at its regular meeting place~ June 18, 19S8, with the following members present: Herbert Lamb Charles Compton Oscar ~pplegate Fred Pfotenhauer There being five members on the board and it appearing that only one member, Rus Hinshaw, was absent~ there being a quorum for the transaction of business~ the meeting was called to order by Herbert Lamb. It appearing that Rue Hinshaw~ the absent member was the president of said board, the members present, by unanimous consent, apDointed Herbert Lamb, president pro tem, who then called for the order of business. Florence Jewett, the Clerk-Treasurer of the Town of Carmel, then laid before the board a request presented by Roberl Follet as a representative of the bonding company who is the surety on the Clerk-Treasurer's Bond~ where in the bonding company request a copy of the resolution designating the American National Bank of Noblesville, Indiana, as Depos- itory for the funms of the Town of Carmel, not to excee~ at any time, the smn of Five Thousand Dollars ' (~,000.00). And it appearing that the minutes of the meeting of said board wherein said ba~ was so aesignated as a depository for said town and the resolution enacteu by said board designating saia bank as saiu depository, have been lost and there being no copies available, Florence Jewett then tendered and offered for consideration anm approval by said board the following resolution: BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Finance of the Town of Carmel, that, V~EREAS, more that twenty (20) days prior to Januaryll, 1935, the Yecretary of the boara of finance mailed by United States Registered Mail, return receipt requested, to all banks !61 162 and trust companies having a place of business in Hamilton County, a notice that said board would on said date receive proposals for the deposit of the funds of the Town of Carmel, and WHEREAS, it appearing that one bank, to-wit~ The American National Bank of Noblesville~ Indiana~ submitted a proposal ana proposition which the board upon reading ana considering, finds in proper form ana that the same conforms to law. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RE~0LVED by the Board of Finance of the Town of Carmel, that the American National Bank of Nobles~ille, Ind- iana, is hereby designate~ as a depository of the Town of Carmel for the funds thereof not to exceed at any one time the sum of Five Thousana ~ollars (~5,000.00). ~aid bnak to be said depository until the grm ~onday of February, t~, unless sooner revoked by said board. And the said resolution, upon being considered and discussed by said board, was found to be correct and was unanimously adopted by the members of said board who were present.
