September 7, 1957 The Carmel Town Board met in the city hall at 7:30 with all members present except Lamb. The minutes of the last meeting were reaA and adopted. Mr. Schowalter of the Indiana Tax payers association was present and discdssed the budget for the civil town of Carmel with the town board. A reply from the prosecuting attorney concerning harboring viscious dogs was read and the clerk was instructed to write and ask the prosecutor who should bring suit in such a case. A petition for a street light at the corner of $ollete and Small street signed by seven residents near said locus was tabled until sufficient funds were available. Pres. October 5, 1937 The Carmel Town Board met in the city hall at 7:30 with all members present except Hinshaw. The minutes of the last meeting were read and adopted. Wilmer Stanley, representing the Carmel Centennial Corporation, was present and asked permission to use W.Main St. from road 431 to Mill St. for Centennial Celebration, permission having been previously given by the State Highway Commission to close said street. A motion was made to grant the use of the said section of W. Main St. with the provision that the street be kept clear from the garage entrance to willow st. 174 Permission was also granted to use the pump house as a dressing room and to erect a tent on the pump house lawn and to use the parking lot for consessions. The board asked R.J. Follett to accompany Rue Hinshaw to visit the Tax Board to see if some adjustment might be reached in the Federal Utility Tax. Mr. Follett consented to study the situation and be ready to go as soon as Mr. Hinshaw is able to make the trip. The clerk was instructed to write Wyatt Carey to cut weeds and shrubs obstruct- lng the side walk on the east side of his property on Roosevelt Ave.b The street comissioner was instructed to cut the weeds on the road at the saw mill crossing of the interurban tracks. October 23, 1937 Pres. pro-rem The carmel Town Board met in special session at Jewett's Esquire Shop at 8:00 with all members present except Hinshaw. Fred Pfotenhauer acted as chairman. Herbert Lamb moved to retain Robert Deardorf to do the legal work of contacting the internal revenue dept. in regard to delinquent taxes on the Carmel Water Co. Seconded and carried. The clerk was lnstrct- ed to write M.L. L~e to come to the next regular meeting. The meeting carried over. Secy.
