BOT 1946 (08-06 thru 09-03)Aug. 6, 1946 THe Board of trustees met i n the town building at 8: P.~. ~ith ail members present,except Nutt. ~inutes of last meeting were read and adopted. Lloyd Smith, Virgil Coil an~ Frank Aldred appeared before the board in the intrest of procuring title to t2e old interurban site which lays through their properties. After discussion it was decided to consult a lawyer as to proper legal proceedure. Jown Brown was present and voiced a complaint of the ia~.less ness on Carmel cross streets, a nuisance to his place of business. Lester Hinshaw told of the experience he had along the same line. No decision was reached as to the best way to improve the condition. R. Skirm inquired of there is an alley leading from ~nd. Ave. N.E. past his house. Examination of the town map showed therelis one, which he may feel free to use. Chester Vaughn asked about cooperation ~ith the town in building a sewe_ to drain surface ~ater from 3r~. Ave. N.E. The zoning ordinance was read for consideration. It was decided~ upon a motion by Vogenberger~ to send the material to Ind. University Law School to draw up a legal mocument. Contracts f~om Public Service Co. of Ind. Inc. were read. Vogenberger moved the contracts be signe~ an~ returne~, motion carried. Upon a motion by Nutt, seconded by Brooks, it was aecided to give qiit c±aim aeeds to owners through ~hose properties traction line passes as follows; Frank Applegate, martha Campbe±i, Iaa Jeffries, Virgil Coil,and Lloym Smith. Frank App±egate reported his yarm had settled eighteen inches thinks Fo~iet ~rain is damaged and needs repair. Street Com. instructed to investigate. Lula Davis an~ Mrs. Floyd Horton presented a petition to put a catch basin and trap to mrain surface water from street and siaewalk on First Ave. N.W. I~ was decided to eliminate the nuisance in the best way possible. There being no one present to object, the budget blanks were signed ane made ready t~ sen~ to the auditor.
