Regular meeting of the Board of ~own Trustees of the Town of Carmel
was c~lle~ at 8:00 o~clock P. M. in the Town building with all
members present. Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
Mr. ~insmeister, represenative of Wallace & Tiernan Co. Inc.,
appeared before the board and stated the c~lotineator we now have
in use was not doing the job required of it because it was too
small for the type of water and offere~ to trade a new type
~SVC~ Chlorineator~ allowing the T~wn full purchas price on the
unit now in use. A diffrence of $~1~.00 was to be paid to Wallace
& Tiernan. ~r. Zinsmeister recommended we put a phos~te system
along ~ith the new Chlorineator an~ offered ~o place the phosfate
equipment in on trial for a period o£ ~0 days. The town o~ Carmel
to suppl~ the phosphate. Da,~son move~ Brooks secon~ that the
Town accept the purposed trade in equipmen~ an~ ury, at no charge
to the town~ the phosphate equipment. ~otiom carried.
A petition for the black toping of First Street No~th~ between
Range Line Road-east to First Avenue North Eas~ w~s presented and
approved.
A public hearing was held with regard to the ~epairing~imp~oveing~
mnd widening of First Street North from First Aven~e North Wes~ to
the First Alley. In attendance were Mr. R~bert O,Donnal~ ~argaret
Overman~ Dr. C. M. Donahue, and Mrs. Virginia Gusterfuson represent-
ing Mrs. Cooper.

Special meeting of the Board of Town Trustees called for a Public
Hearing of the Resolution of Street Improvement ~2, 1950. Brooks
absent.
Minutes of the previous meeting were~read and approved.
A Public Hearing was he~d on The Resolution of Street Improvement
No. 2, 1950. Mr. Nutt read the Ordenance Ordering Street Improvement,
and a discussion on the merits of the improvement was participated
in by the property owners in attendance. They were as follows:
Wyatt Carey, B. H. Gregg, Rue Hinshaw, Frank Hawkins, £arl Hinshaw,
May Osbern, ~ildred Newlin, Wilmer Stanley, ~rs. P. Brown, Eoss
Hunt, Fred Heffelman, Nrs. Bertha Haroid, and Edwin Neal. Nr. Rue
Hinshaw, acting in behal~' of property owner Fred Stratton, asked
for a competitive Did with regard to the work called for on Third
Street North. A discussion was h~ld on the need for a competitive
bid.
~r. Carey stated that he felt a new petition should be entered on the
gruunds that the original petition and the work as specified by the
Board of Trustees were not one and the same.
Since the property owners did not with draw their petition, Dawson
moved, Compton second, that the petition for The Improvement oS'
Tnir~ Street North be reSectea. Notion carried.
