Pres.
Regular meeting wa,~ called to order at 7:30 with a petition for a street
light in front Sf the fire house as the first order of business. The
petitioners were the members of the Carmel Fire Dept. Upon a motion by
Hinshaw, and second by Thornberry, the street light was granted.
Mr. Herbert Zinsmelster was sworn in by the clerk to fill the office of
Town Trustee of the second ~ard.
The Clerk was instructed to advertise for bids for the cutting down of
street approaches. & special meeting was calzeu for the 23rd for the
consi~eratlon of the bidds submitted.

Special ~eeting for considering bids, June 23, 195~./
The meeting was opened at 7:00 P.M. with Appiegate and Buckles absent.
Mr. Hinshaw instructed the c~erk to open and read the bids. After the
~read~ng of the Bids, Zinsmeister moved that the Board except the ~radle
'~rotners bid on items 1,2, and 4 an~ that item 3 be omited from the
work to be preformed. There was a second to this motion by t~hornoerry.
Motion was carried.
July 7, 1953
The regular meeting calle~ to order at 7:30 P.M. with al± members
in attendence. Mr. Homer Gradle appea~ed with regard to stop signs
at the intersection of First Ave. S.W. and ~hird Street S.W. The
president explained that new st~p signs would be ordered for dlstrabution!
as soon as it was determined if funds were available.
Mr. Edward Stevens appeared with regaled to placeing a trailer in
the downtown portion of Carmel to be use~ as a residence by him.
There being no ordnance agains~ same--permission was granted.
Mr. Carl Troutvetter appeared seeking permission 3o establish
a trailer home at the rear of the residence at 221 Second Ave. N. E.
Threr being no ruleing against same, ~ermissi~n was granted.
T~,e President opened the bids for st~-ee~ work.
1. Roadways Inc.,bid in proper order, included $1000 bond.
~. F. S. Grady & Sons, bid found to be in proper order and included
certified check in the amount of $~0.00.
~. Harding & Grover Const. Co., bid found to be without bond and not
i~ regular order.
It was ~ound that the F. S. Graay & Sons Co. had submitted the lowest
~i~ and upon a motion from Thornberry, second by Buckles, the contract
for the work as set forth in the s~ecificatiens was awarde~ to F. S.
Grady & Sons.
The minuets of ~he last meeting were read and approved.
