Executive Order JB-05CITY OF CARMEL, INDIANA EXECUTIVE ORDER WHEREAS, Indiana's Access To Public Records Act, I.C. 5-14-3-1 et seq., as amended (the "Act"), requires the City of Carmel to permit the inspection and copying of certain public records; and WHEREAS, the Act permits the City to require all such records requests to be in writing on or in a form provided by the City; and WHEREAS, as the Chief Executive Officer of the City, I have the duty and responsibility to enforce the laws as they relate to City actions. NOW, THEREFORE, by virtue of the power and authority granted to me as Mayor of the City of Carmel, Indiana, I, James Brainard, do hereby declare and order that, effective on and after February 20, 2001, all executive departments of the City of Carmel shall require all requests for City records to be in writing on or in the City form attached hereto as Exhibit A, which form shall be made available to the public, upon request, at no cost. All such written requests shall be promptly forwarded by the City employee who receives same to the City Legal Department for review and handling.
