Thoroughfare PlanPETITION TO CHANGE BY WAY OF AMENDMENT THE
THOROUGHFARE PLAN, A SECTION OF THE MASTER
PLAN OF CARMEL, INDIANA, 1958, AS AMENDED
Comes now Philip Cairo, applicant, and would state that he is a
resident of Marion County, Indiana; and is the owner of real estate abutting
on the following described property, towit:
Part of the Northwest Quarter of Section 1~, Township
17 North, Range 3 East, in Hamilton County, Indiana, more
particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the Northwest Corner of the Northwest
Quarter of Section 11, Township 17 North, Range 3 East,
thence North, 89 degrees, 12 minutes 45 seconds East
on and along the north line of said northwest quarter
'2022.42 feet to the centerline ofU. S. Highway 31; thence
South 0 degrees, 6 minutes, 35 seconds East, on and along
the said centertine ofU. S. Highway 31, 1536.88 feet to
the point of curvature of 00 degrees, 01 minute, 31 seconds'
curve to the right; thence .southerly on and along said curve
to the right 419.01 feet to the place of beginning of this
tract; thence continuing southerly on and along said curve
to the right and said centerline of said Highway 31, 50 feet
to a point which is 651.10 feet measured along said center-
line from the south line of said northwest quarter; thence
south 89 degrees, 06 minutes, 10 seconds west, 720.80
feet, thence north 0 degrees, 09 minutes, 10 seconds east,
25 feet; thence north 89 degrees, 06 rainutes, 10 seconds
east 720.72 feet to the place of beginning of this description.
That the above real estate was heretofore dedicated to the public
for a road by the English District of the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod,
and by Philip Cairo, Jr. and Philip J. Cairo, Trustees under a certain
Trust Agreement dated August 20, 1965. That the road dedications hereto-
fore made are attached hereto, made apart hereof and marked ExhibitsA
and
That the said road dedication is the extension of 103rd Street to the
'West of Meridian Street located in Hamilton County, Indiana.
That attached hereto and marked Exhibit C is a curb out showing
the relationship of the curb cut to the road dedication and to U. S. Highway
#31.
That Petitioner intends in the future to construct a road over and
along the aforesaid right of way in accordance with the plans and specifica-
lions of the Board of County Commissioners of Hamilton County, Indiana,
and under plans and specifications required by the Town of Carmel, and/or
the Carmel Plan Commission, as may be required.
That there are no-improvements existing on said plot of ground at
the present time; however, it is the intention of the applicant to make
improvements in the future.
That an emergency now exists in that the State of Indiana is now
improvingU. S. 31 and will construct a right of way fence over and across
the road that has been dedicated unless approvali~ the extension of~.l:02rd
Street and the curb cut attached hereto is obtained from the Plan Comt~aissic~
of the Town of Carmel and/or Board of Trustees of the Town of Carmel,
and the Board of County Commissioners of Hamilton County, Indiana.
WHEREFORE, Applicant prays that this petition be referred to the
Plan Commission of the Town of Carmel, Indiana, and that thereafter a
public hearing be held by the Plan Commission and that the Plan Commis-
sion recommend to the Board of Trustees of the Town of Carmel, Indiana,
an Amendment to the Master Plan of the Town of Carmel, Indiana, with
particular reference to an amendment to the Thoroughfare Plan, sheet 2 of
2, of Clay Township. Philip Cairo
