12.5.22 CC Meeting Minutes1 COMMON COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES MONDAY, DECEMBER 5, 2022 – 6:00 P.M. COUNCIL CHAMBERS/CITY HALL/ONE CIVIC SQUARE MEETING CALLED TO ORDER Council President Kevin D. Rider; Council Members: Laura Campbell, Sue Finkam, Adam Aasen, Anthony Green, Timothy Hannon, Miles Nelson, Jeff Worrell and Deputy Clerk Jacob Quinn were present. Councilor H. Bruce Kimball was not present. Council President Rider called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. AGENDA APPROVAL The agenda was approved unanimously. INVOCATION Pastor Nate Nupanga, Mercy Road Church, delivered the Invocation Councilor Worrell led the Pledge of Allegiance. RECOGNITION OF CITY EMPLOYEES AND OUTSTANDING CITIZENS State Senator Scott Baldwin gave a legislative update and a preview of the upcoming legislative session at the Statehouse. Michael Klitzing, Director of Carmel Clay Parks and Recreation/CEO, presented the quarterly report to Council. Jon Oberlander answered questions about the money being transferred to the Support for the Arts line item. This money will be used for a concert in February at the Palladium. The Deputy Mayor of Carmel’s new sister city in Cortona, Italy is performing with the Carmel Symphony Orchestra and the money will be used to put on that event.
