Executive Order JB-2010-2WHEREAS, the City of Carmel, Indiana (the "City has a goal that all City
owned buildings, equipment and facilities operate in an environmentally responsible
manner; and
WHEREAS, use by the City of products that enhance energy savings at the same
time preventing introduction of harmful materials and /or agents to the environment; and
WHEREAS, Light- emitting Diode (LED) light bulb products are
environmentally safe, and provide substantial savings in energy costs over the period of
their life expectancy; and

WHEREAS, the City must avail itself to opportunities for energy savings; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City to enforce a LED Light Usage
NOW, THEREFORE, by virtue of the power and authority granted to me as
Mayor of the City of Carmel, Indiana, I, James Brainard, do hereby declare and order
that, effective on and after March 30 2010, the use of LED bulbs shall be required
to replace any failing light bulb in all City -owned buildings and facilities.
