City of Carmel Assistant Engineer One Civic Square Carmel, IN 46032 i Re: Haverstick Road and 106` Street Drainage Project ';'CROSSROAD Survey and Design Proposal ENGINEERS, PC Dear Gary, We have completed a drainage evaluation of the Haverstick Road drainage areas where you have received several complaints about short term "flooding" or ponding of the road side open ditch (in the proximity of 3781 Coachman Drive). In addition, we have evaluated and scoped other area culvert crossing replacements at your request and this report was used to determine what locations the City would like to pursue development of construction documents that include full survey, design and permitting. All scoped pipe sizing design has been completed to convey a 100 -year peak rainfall storm in accordance with the City of Cannel Stormwater Technical Standards Manual requirements. The actual design will utilize the same in conjunction with the survey. Due to the large contributing watershed, the peak rainfall rates have been completed by the NCRS Type 2 hydraulic method. These locations and project descriptions are as follows: Haverstick Road and Coachman Drive Enclosing this open portion of the system along the west side of Haverstick Road and connecting to an existing underground system 260 feet north of Coachman, replacing the culvert under Coachman and continuing south for 340' to connect to an underground crossing of Haverstick Road. The work would include replacing 95' of the existing 40 "X66" CMP under Haverstick Road. This work is scoped at a cost of $245,000.00 including design and bidding with approved and engineered plan sets. This work includes some clearing, the excavation and installation of the pipes and structures as required from survey, grading, roadway and concrete curb removals and restoration in two locations and lawn restoration. Our fee for the survey, design, permitting, bidding, and construction administration for this work shall be a total lump sum of $18,500 with the following breakdown: Survey $5,500 Design /Permitting $12,500 Bidding $2,000 Const. Admin. $4,000 Total $24,000 Lexington Lane Culvert Crossing We have also done an evaluation of the pipes under Haverstick Road between Lexington Lane and 106 Street. The pipes are dual squash type CMP with bituminous coating and are 42" X 64 Scoped replacement costs per below would be approximately $75,000. The work would include 1 "ATT ik rt R r A" 2 12 minor clearing, pavement and pipe removals, pipe replacement and headwalls, backfilling and reconstruction of the roadway and grade above the pipes as indicated in the estimate. Our fee for the survey, design, permitting, bidding, and construction administration for this work shall be a total lump sum of $10,500 with the following breakdown: Survey $2,000 Design /Permitting $5,000 Bidding $1,000 Const. Admin. $2,500 Total $10,500 106"' Street at 106 Place The pipes west of Haverstick Road and crossing 106` Street just east of 106 Place are also squash type CMP's and are both 43 "x65 The scoped cost estimate to replace these with 48 "X76" RCP culverts would be approximately $64,000. The work would include minor clearing, pavement and pipe removals, pipe replacement and headwalls, backfilling and reconstruction of the roadway and grade above the pipes as indicated in the estimate. Our fee for the survey, design, permitting, bidding, and construction administration for this work shall be a total lump sum of $10,500 with the following breakdown: Survey $2,000 Design /Permitting $5,000 Bidding $1,000 Const. Admin. $2,500 Total $10,500 Our fees above are based on the assumption that all work for the above 3 project areas will be performed simultaneously.
