Executive Order JB-2011-2 RESCINDED CITY OF CARMEL
EXECUTIVE ORDER
JB-2011- 2
WHEREAS, the City of Carmel may establish rules for the operation of City facility operations
and property; and
WHEREAS, the City of Carmel operates the Brookshire Golf Course as a City Golf Course
operation; and
WHEREAS, smoking or use of tobacco products on Brookshire Golf Course is unhealthy and
results in added operational costs for the collection of resultant butts, and trash: and
WHEREAS, the City of Carmel has a responsibility to improve operational costs, and provide for
healthy and safe environment at all of its facilities and operations;
NOW, THEREFORE, by virtue of the power and authority granted to me as Mayor of the City of
Carmel, Indiana, I, James Brainard, do hereby declare and order the following Policy effective
immediately:
Smoking or the use of tobacco products of any nature is strictly prohibited on the
property known as the Brookshire Golf Course, located at 12120 Brookshire Parkway, Carmel,
Indiana 46033. This prohibition includes everywhere including but not limited to the course
grounds, restrooms, parking areas, driving range, practice area, buildings, storage facilities,
vehicles, maintenance equipment, carts, and offices of Brookshire Golf Course. This restriction
applies to all customers, guests, and employees of or to the property known as Brookshire Golf
Course. Failure to observe this Executive Order will result in the removal of violators from the
grounds.
