As we discussed, the City of Carmel has a need for additional professional services and pursuant to our current
contract with CrossRoad Engineers, Contract #030310.03 dated March 3, 2010, I have requested and received from
you the proposed scope of services and fee estimates for the following work task:
Additional Service Amendment #26— Downtown Carmel Intersection /Street Evaluations

Per our contract procedural requirements, I hereby approve these Additional Professional Services estimates, and
request that the Board of Public Works ratify the above referenced Contract Amendment.
PLEASE NOTE
Please be advised that "Additional Services" performed on City contracts must be billed separately from the original
contract and other additional services. More importantly, the invoice must reference the appropriate Additional
Service and P.O. shown above. Invoices received without the Additional Service referenced will be returned

THIS AMENDMENT TO THE GOODS AND SERVICES AGREEMENT ("Agreement") entered into by and
between the City of Carmel and CrossRoad Engineers, P. C. (the "Vendor"), as City Contract 030310.03 shall
amend the terms of the Agreement by adding the additional services to be provided by Vendor consistent with the
Scope of Work attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit "A The terms and conditions of the Agreement
shall not otherwise be affected by this Additional Services Amendment and shall remain in full force and effect.

Dear Gary:
CrossRoad Engineers is pleased to present this Scope of Services and Fee Proposal to provide
professional services associated with the evaluation of sight distances at the following
intersections:
3rd Street NE and Rangeline Road evaluate for parking restrictions on 3 Street NE (if
cars parked on one side or both, traffic turning off of Rangeline has to yield)
6 Street NW and Rangeline Road evaluate for parking on 6 Street NW (if cars parked
on one side or both, traffic turning off of Rangeline has to yield)
5 Street SE and Rangeline Road evaluate for sight distance on Rangeline Road
1 Street SW and Rangeline Road evaluate for sight distance on Rangeline Road
1 Street NW and 3 Ave NW evaluate for parking on 3 Ave NW. Provide
recommendation on striping plan for the current on street parking areas as well as a
recommendation on the elimination of the northernmost parking space on the east side of
3 Avenue at 1 Street NW.
1s' Street NW and 2 "d Ave NW evaluate for parking near intersection
1 Street NW and 1 st Ave NW evaluate for parking near intersection

We will utilize aerial maps in conjunction with field check information to evaluate these
intersections and provide diagrams with sight distance required for the posted speed limit and
give options for mitigation such as lowering speed, restricting parking, restricting turning
movements, etc. This information will be compiled into a report which can be utilized by your
office to present to the City Council for an ordinance to address the final mitigation efforts. We
have based our Fee Proposal on the aforementioned assumptions.
Our fee for this work will be a lump sum of $18,500.
