Main Street, Suite 220 Carmel, Indiana 46032 Re: Proposal for Additional Structural Engineering Services Carmel Regional Performing Arts Center Limited Peer Review Walter P Moore Proposal No. P09 -1303B Dear Mr. Olds: We are pleased to submit this proposal to perform additional engineering services for the referenced project. This work will be performed as an Additional Service under provisions of our agreement between the Carmel Redevelopment Commission and Walter P. Moore and Associates, Inc. dated June 30, 2009. Scope of Project Perform a limited peer review of select elements of the structural design, with particular focus on primary element connection designs, as summarized in the attached scope document. Scope of Services The primary elements of the peer review include the following: 1. Review the design criteria (design live loads, wind and seismic loads, beam deflection criteria, etc.) for the structure. 2. Review the General Notes and structural steel sections of the specifications. 3. Perform a structural check on selected structural steel elements as outlined in the scope document. 4. Perform a structural check on selected steel connection designs as outlined in the scope document. 5. Prepare a written report summarizing the items reviewed and the results of the review. We understand that these services will be provided in similar character and format as the Basic Services for the Project, and that the relationship between Engineer and Client will be the same. Limit of Liability The responsibility for the structural design will remain with the Engineer of Record. Moore will be conducting a limited structural peer review. In order for us to continue with the work toward accomplishment of the project schedule, we request a copy of this agreement, executed. Fee We propose to provide the indicated additional scope of work on a time and expense basis in accordance with the terms in Schedule A2 of the referenced agreement, with a not -to- exceed fee of $55,440.00. Our fee for these Additional Services does not include sales tax or reimbursable expenses, as applicable. We assume that miscellaneous out -of- pocket expenses related to these additional services will be reimbursed as agreed in the master agreement. Schedule The project schedule has required us to proceed with these Additional Services based on verbal authorization, however, we would appreciate receiving a signed copy of this letter agreement at your earliest convenience. We will incorporate it as an attachment rider to our prior agreement with you. We anticipate that this scope of work will be completed in approximately three weeks.
